Why Hemingway’s Manly?

Ernest Hemingway called Paris his home in the 1920s because, “The most interesting people of the world lived in Paris at that time,” (Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Coco Chanel, etc.) and apparently because the monetary exchange rate made it a cheap place to live.
He liked to spend his time in cafes. Some of his favourites were “Les deux Magots”, “Café de Flores”, “La Closerie des Lilas”, where he found his inspiration to write.

For Hemingway eating was always more than just preparing and consuming food. It was about the people, the events and the ambience. We here at Hemingway’s share this value therefore we enjoy accommodating you whether it is for dinner, a coffee and pastry while enjoying the beautiful view, a good laugh on Wednesday at our Comedy Night upstairs, or a bottle of wine while listening to live music on Thursday.

We think that Manly is home of some of the most interesting people of the world, like Ernest did about Paris. Who knows? Maybe you will be the next famous writer or start up entrepreneur of this century who found inspiration here at Hemingway’s Manly, watching the world go by…
